Sexy Beast is the shared vision of a group of influencers in the arts who came together with a desire to prove that getting involved and giving back is not only good — it’s downright sexy. Sexy Beast celebrates the art world’s power to effect positive change, touch peoples’ lives, and create value far beyond commercial gain.
Sexy Beast brings fresh energy, relevance and vigor into charitable events and presents a new way for the art world to have a tangible impact on local community. The inaugural Sexy Beast event in 2014 raised more than $500,000 for Planned Parenthood Los Angeles.
Sexy Beast celebrates the different ways we express our humanity. What is sexy is as broad-ranging as what is art — and like art, takes an infinite number of forms — affirming, provoking, appreciating and reflecting the world around us. Sexy isn’t defined by conventional beauty but by an esprit, a way of feeling and showing up in the world. We are all sexy beasts . . . especially when we use our powers for good.
We are all sexy beasts and we should all be able to access safe, caring, and affordable health services. During these challenging times for Planned Parenthood, it's more important than ever that the organization remains focused on the vital care it provides. Each year, 150,000 women, men and teens rely on Planned Parenthood Los Angeles for reproductive healthcare and education. 90% of the 270,000 annual patient visits are for birth control and preventative care, including cancer screening and STD testing. Like the arts at their best, Planned Parenthood health centers offer refuge, enrichment and empowerment without regard for income or affiliation — here in Los Angeles, and across the country.
